I have to admit, when VoyageRaleigh Magazine reached out asking to feature The Only Earth as one of Raleigh’s Most Inspiring Stories, I was both honored and a little surprised. Us? Inspiring? But as I sat down to answer their questions, I found myself reflecting on a journey I don’t always take time to think about.

How It All Started

My health journey didn’t begin because I wanted to own a wellness store someday. It started out of necessity – helping my daughter, then my whole family, navigate health challenges. Little by little, I was exposed to more people and information that opened doors I didn’t even know existed. I took classes, earned diplomas in muscle testing, nutrition, and herbalism, and kept learning.

When I moved to High Point in 2015, I walked into The Only Earth looking for a job. I got it. And honestly, working here while facing my own health challenges taught me more than any class ever could. The people I met and the knowledge I gained not only improved my health dramatically but gave me tools to help others.

Then in November 2020, my husband and I bought The Only Earth, making us the third owners. God orchestrated details I never could have planned myself.

What Drives Us Every Day

VoyageRaleigh asked what sets us apart. The answer is simple – customer service. Not the “have a nice day” kind, but the kind where we actually listen. Where we take time to understand what you’re dealing with and help you find solutions that work for YOUR body and YOUR situation.

I’m continuously taking classes because there’s always more to learn. I offer professional supplement lines and consultations to help people get real answers and real results. And because I’ve walked through my own weight loss journey (losing 16 sizes over 15 years), I can offer more than just advice – I can offer proof it’s possible, tips from experience, and a whole lot of cheerleading along the way.

The Real Blessing

Am I lucky to own this business? I prefer to say blessed. Some people might look at the challenges I’ve been through – personally and as a business owner navigating a pandemic, economic shifts, and constant changes in the health world – and call it bad luck. But those experiences gave me something more valuable than smooth sailing ever could – they gave me understanding, empathy, and practical knowledge that helps me serve you better.
